The track is transcribed in the original key, A Minor, and uses basic and extended major and minor chords. There are two progressions: one for the verse and one for the chorus.
The vocals are typed using the 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Sing one octave lower than written.
“Even In Arcadia” is composed with straight rhythm in common time. Accent strong beats.
The piano part is as close to the original as possible but it sounds very strange. Listen to the instrumental track before practicing. Avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning; you will fail immediately and abandon the score.
In vocal part, descending inflections are played diminuendo >. Overall, there is not much dynamics in the vocal part.
The false ending of the bridge releases tension so the repeated chorus doesn't sound dull after an intense bridge.
Much of the song’s aesthetic value is generated through abundance of melodic material.
