The track is transcribed in the original key, D Minor, and uses basic major and minor chords with one non-harmonic A. The progression annoyingly starts and ends with the tonic chord Dm. I thought in 2025 no one writes songs this way anymore. Such a short cadential gesture is tiring the ear. The melody is build to retain attention with a rapid changes of direction.
The false ending of the bridge releases tension so the repeated chorus doesn't sound dull after the louder and intense part.
Notice the amount of ellipsis (omitted chords) creating expressive pauses.
The vocals are typed using the optional 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Play the right hand at written pitch bit sing one octave lower than written.
I doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners.
“Lighter” is composed with a straight rhythm in common time. Accent strong beats.
The left-hand provides an accompaniment. Play any pattern here (chords, arpeggios, tremolo, ostinato).

The right hand imitates vocal delivery by Kyle Alessandro: a predominant articulation is tenuto.
Pitch inflections (slurred notes) are played quietly.
Much of the song’s aesthetic value is generated through abundance of melodic material and expressive whiney delivery.
