The track is transcribed in the original key, A Flat Major, and uses basic and extended major and minor chords A♭ B♭m7 E♭ A♭ A♭/C Fm7.

"SOS" is composed with a straight rhythm in common time.

Accent strong beats but do it softly.

Learn the left hand first and avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning. Patience is a virtue. Otherwise you will fail immediately and abandon the score.

The left-hand texture is thick and makes great use of the bass register. Imitate guitar strumming with a light touch.

The right hand imitates the vocal delivery by Fifty Fifty members: a predominant vocal style is breathy staccato. Girls sing in head voice without much overtones.

Pitch inflections (slurred notes) should be played quietly.

Focus on precise rhythm in the rap part (second verse). Play pianissimo.
