"The Emptiness Machine"
The track is transcribed in the original key, D Minor, and uses basic major and minor chords Dm Gm C B♭ F and non-harmonic D. B♭ and F (on the sixth and third degrees, or mediant and submediant chords) are characteristic harmonization for Linkin Park. Notice the ellipsis (omission) of C chord at the end of phrases. remove pedal here.
The vocals are typed using an optional 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Sing one octave lower than written and play the right hand in any octave you prefer.
"The Emptiness Machine" is composed with a straight rhythm in common time.
Accent strong beats but do it softly.
The left-hand texture is thick and makes great use of the bass register. Notice tremolos. You can skip playing them because they are tiring.
The right hand imitates the vocal delivery by Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong: a predominant vocal style is staccato. Instead of banging on the keyboard, play the left hand more quiet.
The aesthetic value of a track is based on a one-note melody.
